Ace Places Heads to the Great British Entrepreneur Awards!

We’ve got some royally good news to share…

Our founder, Emma Sweet, has been named a finalist in the 2025 Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards, in the Start-Up Entrepreneur of the Year category for the South East!

Known as “The Grammys of Entrepreneurship”, these awards shine a light on the UK’s most inspiring business journeys—and this year, Emma’s story of turning local love into beautifully illustrated playing cards is in the mix. She’s flying the flag not just for Ace Places, but for independent businesses, community champions, and all those who believe in the power of a good idea (and a great hand of cards).

From sketching out the first Henley pack at the kitchen table to selling over 14,000 decks, Emma’s mission has always been clear: celebrate hidden gems, champion independents, and spark a bit more joy in our towns.

This nomination is a massive nod to everyone who’s been part of the Ace Places journey—illustrators, sponsors, shopkeepers, locals, tourists, charity partners, and the brilliant franchisees taking the idea nationwide. It’s your support that’s turned an idea into a movement.

The big awards night is happening on 17th November at Grosvenor House in London, where over 1,500 business leaders and entrepreneurs will be raising a glass to bold ideas and brave hearts.

Wish Emma luck—and keep dealing those local aces!
