About Ace Places

Since Ace Places was founded in March 2023, the concept has grown from one local idea into an exciting model with the potential to launch packs across the UK.

As Ace Places grows, the existing Henley and Marlow packs remain a key priority. These packs are an important part of the story and continue to support brilliant local businesses, local charities, sponsors, retailers and customers.

This role has been created to bring more dedicated local energy to the Henley and Marlow packs, helping them stay visible, well-promoted and actively supported as the wider Ace Places concept develops.

About the role

Ace Places is looking for a confident, well-connected and proactive Local Brand Ambassador to support the Henley and Marlow packs.

The role will focus on building relationships with retailers, encouraging pack orders, delivering stock locally, and helping the businesses, sponsors and charities involved feel valued and visible.

There is also plenty of scope for creativity, including social media content, local events, seasonal promotions and new ideas to help more residents and visitors discover the packs.

This would suit someone outgoing, organised and commercially minded, with strong connections in Henley and/or Marlow and experience in marketing, PR, sales, events or community partnerships.

Key responsibilities

Retailer relationships and pack sales

The role will involve helping to grow local sales of the Henley and Marlow packs by:

• Contacting retailers and local businesses by email
• Encouraging and supporting stock orders
• Following up with warm leads and existing retail contacts
• Delivering packs to local retailers
• Checking in with stockists to see whether more packs are needed
• Helping retailers understand how to talk about and sell the packs
• Sharing feedback from retailers and customers
• Spotting new retail opportunities in Henley and Marlow

Local promotion and awareness

A key part of the role will be making sure residents, visitors and local businesses know about the packs.

This may include:

• Promoting the Henley and Marlow packs locally
  
• Helping visitors understand that the packs make thoughtful local gifts
  
• Encouraging businesses to display and talk about the packs
  
• Promoting seasonal gifting opportunities such as Christmas, birthdays, thank-yous, teacher gifts, corporate gifts and visitor gifts
  
• Highlighting free gift-wrapping when packs are ordered via the website
• Sharing the benefits of choosing a gift that supports local businesses and charities
• Helping maintain a positive local presence for the packs

Social media and storytelling

The Local Brand Ambassador will help bring the packs to life through positive, engaging content.

This may include:

• Sharing sponsor testimonials
  
• Celebrating the businesses featured in the packs
• Highlighting the local charities supported by the packs
• Talking up the packs as thoughtful local gifts
• Sharing stories from sponsors, retailers and customers
  
• Promoting the green credentials of the packs, including UK printing
  
• Letting customers know that lost cards or damaged boxes can be replaced
  
• Creating simple content that helps everyone involved feel valued and included

The tone should always feel warm, positive, local and community-minded.

Events and creative ideas

There is plenty of flexibility to bring new ideas to the role.

The Local Brand Ambassador may help organise or support:

• Treasure hunts

• Retailer events
  
• Seasonal gift campaigns
  
• Charity-linked promotions
  
• Local competitions
  
• Collaborations with businesses in the packs
  
• Pop-up sales opportunities
• Other creative ways to help people discover and buy the packs

Fresh ideas are very welcome, especially ideas that help create excitement around the Henley and Marlow packs and encourage more people to use them.

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be helpful:

Previous experience in a similar role is not essential, but confidence, initiative and strong local knowledge are important.

Remuneration

This is a flexible, commission-based role linked to sales of the Henley and Marlow packs.
